Bangalore, September 13, 2023: The IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter is thrilled to announce “Hack-the-Metaverse,” a groundbreaking Metaverse hackathon set to take place at the prestigious International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B) from September 12th to 15th, 2023.
During the press conference, Prof. Debabrata Das, Director of IIIT-Bangalore, enthusiastically conveyed his anticipation, remarking, “This event epitomizes the essence of the future. Established in 1998, IIIT-B has been a pioneer in the field of IT education and research, consistently producing top-tier talent. Over 3,500 graduates have emerged from its hallowed halls, with more than 100 of them now contributing their skills to renowned IT product and service companies.
This event marks a significant milestone in the world of technology and innovation, offering students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the Metaverse and tackle real-world challenges head-on.
“Hack-the-Metaverse” is poised to redefine the boundaries of student-led tech events. This week-long hackathon promises a deep dive into the Metaverse, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of its technology and applications.
Students will benefit from tutorials, training sessions, problem-solving challenges, and an exciting hackathon competition. Furthermore, they’ll have the chance to showcase their projects to industry professionals.
Participants are encouraged to submit proposals that address critical problem statements in the Metaverse application categories of Healthcare, Education and Learning, Travel and Tourism, or Industrial and Enterprise. These proposals should clearly outline the problem, explain its significance, detail the proposed solution and approach, and list the resources (hardware and software) available to solve the problem.
Each team, comprising a maximum of four members and one faculty mentor (preferably female), should include at least one IEEE or IEEE Computer Society member.
