Chennai, 2 December: Football plus is a professional soccer academy based out of Chennai and has its training centers in Velachery and Royapettah training kids of age 6 – 24yrs. Football plus organized a five-a-side football tournament for the U-10 and U-12 kids at Tiki Taka, Velachery ground. The main motive of the tournament is to encourage young children and to promote the grassroots.
26 teams & 200 + kids actively participated in the tournament. It was an amazing day of parents, coaches and kids coming together to display their passion and love for football.
The winners of the U-10 category are SPARK FC and the runners are SSFC. The winners of the U-12 category are FOOTBALL PLUS VELACHERY (Home team) and the runners are JRK. The winners and runners got a trophy, certificates, and medals 1500Rs worth of PUMA vouchers.
Third place was also awarded for both categories. CITY 5 teams all the way from Pondicherry bagged the third prize in the U-10 category. And GRACE UNITED FC won the third prize in the U-12 category. The third-place teams got a trophy, medals, certificates, and 500Rs worth of PUMA vouchers. Man of the match was awarded to players from the semi-final matches in both categories. The man of the match players was awarded a PUMA voucher worth Rs.500.
Many individual prizes such as Best goalkeeper, Top scorer, promising player, Best coach, Fair play award, and the best player were also awarded trophies for both categories.
