Gamharia, December 9, 2024XITE Gamharia (Autonomous) hosted a prestigious two-day National Conference on December 7–8, 2024, bringing together scholars, academicians, and students from across the nation to explore contemporary issues through the lens of interdisciplinary research. The conference centered on the theme of Identity, Technology, Gender, and Societal Transformation, creating a platform for intellectual exchange and collaboration.

Day 1 Highlights (December 7, 2024)

The event commenced with a warm reception and networking during the registration session. The inaugural ceremony, held in the Conference Room, was marked by the traditional Lighting of the Lamp, a prayer song by the XITE choir, and an inspiring Welcome Address by Dr. (Fr.) Mukti Clarence SJ, Vice Principal and Conference Convenor. The ceremony also featured an insightful Guest of Honor’s Address by Dr. Rupa Sarkar, Associate Professor of English, Arka Jain University.

Following the inaugural program, the participants gathered for a group photo and tea, fostering camaraderie among attendees. The technical sessions began with compelling presentations on topics ranging from patriarchy and homophobic rhetoric to tribal traditions and entrepreneurial development. Scholars such as Shreya Raj, Awani Sahay, and Dr. Radha Mahali presented their thought-provoking research.

The day concluded with a Valedictory Program, where participation certificates were distributed, and attendees shared reflections on the enriching academic discussions.

Day 2 Highlights (December 8, 2024)

The second day featured online paper presentations, organized into two tracks chaired by distinguished academicians, Dr. Lisa Thomas and Dr. Manisha Titus. The papers addressed diverse topics such as digital identity, environmental degradation, gender dynamics, and the impact of artificial intelligence on creative writing. Scholars like Praveen Toppo, Ananya Banerjee, and Indrani Singh brought fresh perspectives to critical issues.

Organizational Excellence

The conference’s success was a testament to the leadership of Dr. (Fr.) E.A. Francis, SJ, Principal, and the dedication of the organizing team, including Assistant Prof. Akinchan Xaxa, Co-Convenor, and faculty members like Dr. Swati Singh and Assistant Prof. Amit Chaturvedi. The logistical efforts, led by Mr. Ashish Singh, Branding & Communication Head, ensured seamless execution.
