DPS R.N. Extension gave a warm welcome to the students as they resumed school after summer vacations. The post-vacation session jump-started with a myriad of activities. Along with various other programmes, an Inter-house Newsletter Designing Competition was organised among students of classes 6-8 on Friday, 8 July 2022. The objective of the competition was to enhance the innovative skills of the students as well as their abilities to systematically plan and articulate their thoughts through articles and present them in the most appealing manner.
A team comprising three students each from Ganges, Yamuna, Jhelum and Chenab rigorously prepared for the competition under the able guidance of their House Wardens and In-charges. Students tri
learnt the intricacies of designing newsletters for their school, which would be informative as well as visually appealing. All the participants presented their best before the jury to ensure the victory of their respective houses. All the newsletters were unique and showed the students’ personal touches that brought out their creative thinking.
The competition proved to be quite exciting and enriching for the students as they participated with great enthusiasm. They also learned the valuable lesson of teamwork and the importance of a healthy competitive spirit. Though the results are yet to be announced where winners would be awarded certificates of merit, participants are already being regarded as winners for the efforts they’ve put in.
“Competition teaches us big lessons; it drives us to be the best we can. It was an unusual idea to organise the Newsletter Designing Competition as this is something that the students haven’t already done. But it was great to witness such enthusiasm from the participants. They really performed well and have brought some unique presentations to us,” said Mrs. Pallavi Upadhayay, Principal, DPS R.N. Extension.
