Mumbai 13 June 2023: The International SOS Foundation has unveiled the 2023 Duty of Care Awards winners at the Duty of Care Summit & Awards for the year 2023. This year, the awards received exceptional entries from organisations across 34 countries and 19 industries, showcasing their exceptional achievements and Duty of Care commitments in protecting their global workforce. These organisations and individuals represent an unparalleled level of excellence in protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of their global workforce.
In the current year, a selection process was conducted for prominent organizations in India, resulting in two eventual winners. Oracle India Private Limited, a technology company, received recognition for their compassionate efforts towards their employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, which was highlighted by their agility and prompt responses. Wipro Limited, a leading IT consulting firm in India, was also honoured with the top award for its exceptional initiatives in promoting inclusion across gender, disability, nationality, and LGBTQ rights.
HCL Technologies Limited, another prominent Indian IT firm, secured a commendable runner-up position due to its well-structured employee communication and engagement approach. Several other renowned Indian companies such as Aditya Birla Management Corp Pvt Ltd, Calcutta Rescue(CR), HSBC, Kushi Baby, Society For Public Educational Cultural Training and Rural Action and Reliance Industries Ltd from India were also among the highly commended across different categories.
Winners were selected by a panel of sector-leading expert judges1 from a host of internationally recognised organisations: the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), ASIS International, Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), The Employee Mobility Institute (TEMI), Great Place to Work, Gulf Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, Pan Asia Risk & Insurance Management Association (PARIMA)/ International Federation of Risk and Insurance Management Associations (IFRIMA), Risk Management Society and The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
