SBI Small Cap Fund has completed 14 years. Launched on September 9, 2009, the scheme has delivered a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.54% since its inception i.e., Rs 10 lakh invested during the NFO of the scheme would have grown to around Rs. 1.37 crore. The benchmark of the scheme (S&P BSE 250 Small Cap Index TRI) would have grown to Rs. 47.19 lakh in the same period, growing by 11.72% CAGR.

A SIP in the scheme since its inception would have delivered a CAGR of 22.85% to investors vis-à-vis 14.86% of its benchmark. If an investor had invested Rs. 5,000 every month since inception, the investment of Rs. 8.40 lakh would have grown to Rs. 49.44 lakh.

The Fund is managed by R. Srinivasan, CIO – Equity since November 2013. The AUM of the fund as of August 31, 2023 is Rs. 20,908 crores which is optimally diversified across only 55 companies with the top 5 sectors (capital goods, consumer durables, consumer services, financial services and construction) comprising of 58% of the portfolio.
