NMIT ERCAM

Bengaluru, 22nd September 2023: Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology(NMIT), Bengaluru, hosted the fourth International Conference on Emerging Research in Civil, Aeronautical and Mechanical engineering, ERCAM-2023, which deliberated on the conclave theme – Materials, Mechanics, Structures, Systems and Sustainability. The conference brought together leading academicians, scientists, researchers and industry experts from across the world.

ERCAM-2023 is envisaged to string together specialists and practitioners from various industries, R&D institutes and academicians, thereby providing a forum for exchange of knowledge on recent trends in major sectors of materials, processes and systems pertaining to Civil, Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering with multi-disciplinary approaches.

Dr G. Satheesh Reddy, President, Aeronautical Society of India delivered the inaugural address. He also served as Former Secretary, Dept of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO & former Scientific Adviser to Defense Minister. Addressing the gathering he said, “With the emerging technologies and advancements, India is flourishing in various fields. The technological innovations are shaping the country, and young minds are contributing to the field of research and development. With the idea of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’, emphasized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is transforming from being a leading importer to being a leading exporter across the globe. The technological institutes play a pivotal role in creating talented minds to build the self-reliant mission of India.”

The keynote speakers and guest of honors included, Dr Navil Shetty, President , Indian Institute of Asset Management, Strategy Advisor, MSME Ministry, Govt of Karnataka, Prof. U. Chandrasekhar, CEO-GM, Scientific Innovation & Research Centre, and Dr. Atul Singhal, Engineering Leader, Modeling, Simulation & Testing, Trane Technologies.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. H. C. Nagaraj, Principal, NMIT, said, “NMIT is committed to providing a platform for young researchers to identify and explore potential research problems and prospects in their respective fields. We believe that by bringing together young researchers from a variety of disciplines, we can create a more vibrant and innovative research environment. We are excited to see the many new ideas and collaborations that emerge from this conference, and we look forward to continuing to support our students and researchers in their endeavors.”

Prof. N. R. Shetty, Hon’ble Chancellor, Central University of Karnataka, Kalaburgi delivered presidential address. Dr V Sridhar, Dean of Academics and Rohith Punja, Administrator of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology were present in the conference.
