iCreate and COEP's Bhau Institute of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership, hosts EVangelise‘22- India’s largest EV Innovation Challenge roadshow in Pune.

15th September, Pune: iCreate (International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology), India’s leading tech innovation-based start-up incubator, in association with College of Engineering Pune’s (COEP’s) Bhau Institute of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership hosted a roadshow with the aim of engaging with the startup and innovators ecosystem in Pune to attract participation for its flagship EV Innovation Challenge – EVangelise’22. The challenge comes with prizes upto INR 1.12 Cr in cash and grants apart from incubation support, mentorship from market leaders, industry connect and opportunities to network and establish strategic partnerships.

Innovators, students and startups from around the city participated in the event to showcase their breakthrough solutions.  Innovators present at the event also pitched their solutions on the spot to a distinguished panel including Dr. Dhananjay Kumar, Emeritus Prof, PGD in electrical mobility, COEP, Mr. Shantanu Chaturvedi, Head EV-CoE, iCreate and Mr. Shantanu Poddar, Head-Sales and Promotion, iCreate. Shortlisted applicants won a cash prize of ₹ 50,000 and a direct entry to EVangelise ‘22.

Mr. Shantanu Chaturvedi and Mr. Shantanu Poddar introduced the participating students and innovators to EVangelise’22 and iCreate’s EV Centre of Excellence and its efforts to promote breakthroughs in the Indian electric vehicle ecosystem.

Mr. Shripad Chandrachood, Principal Application Engineer – Electrification Technologies Mathworks delivered the keynote address at the event and spoke about their technology partnership with iCreate. The event also graced the presence of Dr. Dhananjay Kumar, Emeritus Prof, PGD in electrical mobility, COEP; Dr. Sanjay Dambhare, Head of CoE, Smart Renewable Energy System, COEP who shared their thoughts on the need for promoting entrepreneurial skills and their importance to the promising EV ecosystem in India.

Earlier in June 2022, iCreate announced EVangelise ’22, in partnership with Startup India and the CII – CoE for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Start-ups (CII-CIES) with the aim to solve real world challenges in the Indian EV industry. The challenge brings together some of the most prominent industry players, offering their mentorship support and strategic partnerships to the applying innovators.

In an effort to connect with and identify promising innovations nationwide through EVangelise, iCreate has partnered with leading institutes to host the roadshows in their respective campuses, including Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Agra, Mathura, Kanpur and Noida, to name a few.

Launched with the concept of accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles in the country, EVangelise is an annual event hosted by iCreate to identify the next generation of breakthrough innovators in the electric vehicle sub-components segment. The applications to EVangelise ’22 close on September 25, 2022. Applications are open to individual innovators, start-ups, students, researchers, and EV enthusiasts who are driven by a passion for tech innovation and the ambition to transform the EV industry.
