Mumbai, 20th September 2023: Allcargo Group, an Indian born global logistics conglomerate, on the occasion of International Coastal Cleanup Day collaborated with its NGO partner, Swachha Vasundhara Foundation that is supported by the Maharashtra Forest Department, to promote maritime health and environmental sustainability. Over 1,000 volunteers took part in this initiative which included students from 18 colleges, NGOs as well as Navy personnel and NCC Cadets. The main activities carried out on this day were cleaning up Mangroves and beach at Carter Road along with contributing towards restoring an area of 2.5 acres that hosts vital mangroves.

In Mumbai alone, we have 10 NGOs who have voluntarily rallied people to contribute significantly to environmental cleanup. It’s inspiring to see that this is a people-centric movement. I applaud, the efforts of Swachha Vasundhara Abhiyaan and Allcargo Group in this initiative and anticipate that as people become more aware of the environment, such cleanup initiatives will no longer be required.’’
Promoting maritime health is among the Avashya Foundation’s diverse initiatives, as the CSR arm of Allcargo Group. Sustainability is epitomized through the Maitree initiative, aimed at fostering sustainable livelihoods for farmers and preserving the environment. Through Maitree, Allcargo Group has planted 10 lakhs trees that has positively impacted over 20,000 tribal farmers lives, promoting economic empowerment and self-reliance.
