Greater Noida, Nov 2022: A simulated full emergency Fire evacuation mock drill exercise was organised at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida (CPGN) recently. The mock drill, held in collaboration with the UP Fire Service team, Gr. Noida had participation by Hotel staff led by General Manager Sharad K. Upadhyay. The UP Fire service team also came with Fire Tender and provided fire evacuation, and firefighting training to the hotel staff.
Hotel management and staff were apprised about processes to be followed, like emergency response plans, headcount after evacuation, and other necessary protocols. The condition of fire extinguishers in the hotel was also checked as part of the drill. During the drill, Firefighting systems; foam monitors, dry chemical powder extinguishers, and water sprinklers were also put to test.
Sharad K. Upadhyay, General Manager CPGN said, this emergency response drill was conducted as part of an initiative to test the preparedness of employees and technical staff to meet emergencies. During the drill exercise, we ensure it doesn’t cause any inconvenience to our guests or interruption in services. We all understand how important fire drills are to our own safety and the safety of those around us. In the drill yesterday, in times of real need, these practices will greatly help us to save lives, he added.
It’s important to conduct such drills, as the rehearsal of the emergency procedures via evacuation drill is critical to make sure that the team is familiar with the emergency plan, said Pradeep Kumar, the security manager at CPGN.
Hotel Security Manager, Pradeep Kumar, UP Fire service team; Leading fireman Sumair Singh, Driver Naresh Pal, Fireman Mohit Kumar, and Fireman Rash Singh were also part of the drill.
