Apollo Medical College has also adopted one thousand patients suffering from Tuberculosis as part of the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, among others.

The Hon’ble Governor released a souvenir commemorating the historic occasion and formally launched the adoption of TB patients by AMC, by handing over food baskets to the beneficiaries. She also presented prizes to the winners of various competitions held as part of the largest inter-medical collegiate fest.

Dr. (Smt.) Tamilisai Soundararajan said, congratulation to all the future doctors and would say that you are very fortunate to graduate from a reputed college like Apollo Medical College. Dr. Prathap C. Reddy has been a role model for all young doctors and reserve the highest regard for him. Dr. Prathap Reddy always says, a patient first and commends his vision to extend healthcare to the poorest of the poor, he always strived to ensure that nobody is deprived of the best available medical care. He is known as the architect of modern healthcare in India and is the father of modern corporate health medicine in India. I should compliment him for bringing tertiary care and modern medicine within the reach of people. Apollo has always been the pioneer in bringing the latest healthcare to India. When I came as a Governor to this state and was the youngest Governor, people doubted my ability to handle the newborn state, I responded by saying that I am a Gynaecologist and good at handling newborn babies and therefore competent to handle newborn Telangana. Some people doubted when I was given additional charge of Puducherry and I responded by saying that as a Gynaecologist I can handle a single baby and twin babies too. Because of the efforts of our Hon’ble Prime Minister, we are going to get a medical college in each district. He introduced several health-oriented schemes, which benefitted crores of people. I congratulate AMC for adopting one thousand TB patients because it helps in achieving the goal of our Hon’ble Prime Minister of TB Mukt Bharat. I appeal to the students to adopt TB patients because as Doctors we know apart from medicine, nutrition plays a big role in the treatment of tuberculosis. Comment Apollo for taking the initiative to vaccinate large sections of the population during the unique pandemic situation in our lifetime. One message I have for all of you is, nobody can ignore you, except you, and nobody can depress you, except you, therefore imbibe self-confidence. You should strive to constantly keep pace with the latest developments in your domain and provide the best possible care to the patients. Always try and outperform, think and do out of the box.

Dr. Sangita Reddy said, as you celebrate your tenth year and look back at an organization that has been born a decade ago, it is now in the hands of our students, because it is you who must embody the Apollo spirit of pioneering healthcare, of transforming, of dedication to bring healthcare within the reach of everyone. So not only as you graduate, you take a part of Apollo with you, but in true effect you are Apollo and therefore I am very happy to be amongst you today. Want to congratulate all of you and especially the faculty on the tremendous transformation work you achieved. When we began college, Dr. Prathap Reddy our Chairman said I am very happy that you are doing a medical education institution. India needs more doctors, needs to double our doctors, triple our nurses, and increase by fourfold our para-medics by. He added, that if you are doing just another medical college go ahead and do it, but don’t call it Apollo Medical College. If you are ready to transform education, if you are ready to bring out the best in the students, if you are committed to research, if you will upgrade the standards of medical education in our country, then you name it Apollo Medical College. So this is just the beginning, I commend you for the work you have done in research, the funding you are getting from ICMR and others is a validation of the powerful clinical work you are doing, for the work you are doing for the underprivileged or your outstanding work in pediatric heart surgery, the presentations you made in national and international forums, five hundred papers that were published by you and the grants you are getting, are all commendable. I am leaving you with one final magic mantra, the Vice President of India asked me, how is it that you people keep on doing everything you are doing, what is that your father feeds you all for breakfast, I said, it was not what he fed us for breakfast, it was the magic mantra and he said this to his doctors, however intelligent and skilled you are, however knowledgeable you are, whatever degrees you got, let the path from your head to the hands flow through your heart. So please take this mantra with you everywhere you go, you may become the greatest surgeons, you may become scientist, you may create a new drug, one of you may become a Noble prize winner, but do take the Chairman’s message with you.

Through a video message Dr. Prathap C Reddy, Founder Chairman, of Apollo Hospitals Group said, Apollo began four decades ago to bring world-class healthcare to all our people. Today in all the specialties we have accomplished on par or even better outcomes in comparison to the best healthcare institutions in the world. You all should feel proud of this legacy of being an Apollo Doctor and take it forward with the same dedication and commitment. . I hail from a small village in Andhra Pradesh and have given back to my village the best possible healthcare, with seventy thousand people being looked after. This is the pride I hold in my contribution to the community, to the nation, and to the world, similarly, you should work towards contributing to the community and nation and feel proud of it. As you would be aware, based on our suggestion to make India a global healthcare destination, the Government of India has initiated a program called Heal in India. You should feel proud.d that you will not only care for patients from our country but from across the globe
