Delhi’s Delight zone Vegas Mall for the second time after a gap of one year organized a Dev Diwali ceremony held at the central atrium of the mall, in its effort to recreate the magic of Varanasi ghat worship and continue to celebrate the festivities which commenced with Dussehra. The auspicious day is widely celebrated to be the one which marks the holy descendence of Gods on earth. It is believed that they bathe in the plenary Ganges water on this day. Vegas Mall coined the ceremony as the ‘Festival of Lights of the Gods’, to give an ode to the more than thousand-old beliefs and values held by Hindu civilization. The event was conducted on 7th November in the evening hours. The ceremony was hallmarked as one of the most pioneering events held at Vegas Mall and saw the attendance of 1000 pious devotees.

The ceremony was presided over by Honourable Ajay Bhai Ji. The Dev Diwali ceremony began with the presentation of a seraphic ‘Pushpak Viman’, beautifully created and executed by hundreds of artisans. It got praise from the attendees for its pristine detailing and opulent display. Flowers like Lotus, Marigolds, and Rose petals, were used to give viewers a visibly ecstatic experience, which left many spellbound.

1000 Diyas were lighted to create a divinely enthused spectacle. The event was held in the evening, which illuminated the Diya lighting scene and caught the attention of viewers as they were placed in different geometric designs. The patrons of the mall gathered to light diyas and rejoiced in the spiritually charged atmosphere.

The best was saved for the last. The Dev Diwali’s culmination program was the Evening Aarti, which was headed by Honourable Ajay Bhai Ji. Everybody sang aarti, bhajans, devotional hymns, and songs to praise the Lord and seek His blessings. The entire Evening Aarti program reminded people of the evening sadhna and collective hymn singing done at the famous temples of Benares. In fact, the timing of the Evening Aarti coincided with the holy Aarti performed in Benares.

Ravinder Choudhary – AVP, Vegas Mall, said, “This is the second time Vegas Mall organized the Dev Diwali ceremony with the special evening Aarti, resonating with the exact images of Ganga Aarti which are performed at the ghats of Benares with faith and unparalleled devotion. The Dev Diwali was our effort to pay homage to our rich cultural ethos and values. The lively spirit shown by devotees was admirable and there was a mixed attendance from children to adults to older people. We are happy to organise an event of this stature and scale with great participation from across ages. ”
